Cosy musings for September ππ
*Stands on the threshold; sees Autumn glimmering in the distance.*
Greetings lovelies!
Iβve no idea if this will turn into a monthly series, but I do want to twirl by with a gentle cosy musing for this wonderful month! Itβs the doorway to my favorite season. π₯°
Question: Whatβs one thing that youβre looking forward to this month?
For me: Iβll be wandering around the Black Forest for a week soon and just the thought of being in immersed in nature makes my heart sing. Iβve no idea what to expect. Hiking and the sorts isnβt in my standard routine, but I like for it to be.
Hello, lovely reader! Iβm TJ, an artist and storyteller and on here, you will find gentle reflections & musings on life, self love, healing and the magic of mundane wonders. Aka the stories that I collected as I pivoted my life around by choosing to follow my creative dreams. Make yourself cozy, have a read and I hope you the words will bring a dash of wonder and magic into your day.
~ Doorway to Autumn ~
The magic that awakens as the air cools down and the layering of clothes, the sight of colorful leaves, countless of hot drinks and foggy mornings create the most wonderful cosy days.
Ahh, can you feel it in the air already? Summer is slowly unraveling her embrace on nature and the season of cosiness and delightfully spiced goodies is knocking on our doors.
When I look outside of my window, I already see the trees beginning to be laced with gold and the breeze holds a crispness that reminds me of freshly baked apple turnovers. Itβs a bit strange to think weβre heading into the slower season of the year already, but this could definitely be because I spent quite a big part of 2024 navigating getting back online again, tiny detours and finding a rhythm with showing up for myself.
Autumn is my favorite season for many reasons and I always feel more like myself the moment September starts. Maybe itβs because Iβm born in Autumn (October baby!). Maybe itβs because I adore the layering of clothes, the colorful leaves, hot drinks, crisp air and foggy mornings that create wonderfully cosy days. Or maybe itβs because I feel I can breathe a bit deeper as the energies in the air begin to settle down again.
I know that the darker months arenβt everyoneβs cup of tea, and Iβll be honest, I havenβt always seen the appeal of it, but just as nature settles in a slower rhythm, we too get a chance to do the same. We canβt expect ourselves to bloom all year round and a season where we get to nurture, rest and rejuvenate ourselves will only help to support the beautifully audacious dreams weβd love to explore and call into our existence.
After youβve stepped over the threshold, make yourself cosy by the fire and as you glance through the tall window of the beautiful cabin you find yourself in, enjoy natureβs last symphony of color before she falls into a slumber. Notice how the fading light casts a soft glow on everything it touches. Feel how the autumnal winds clear out stagnant energies and embrace the pockets of time where you get to pause and reflect. Gift yourself the space to integrate all youβve experienced up till now, so you can continue to dream a bit deeper and more fully.
Autumn feels like a wondrous enigma as seemingly contradicting energies flow together, like a dance. I think this is what I love the most about her. She shows us the beauty of letting go and the wonder that is to be found as you allow yourself to slow down. This is something that I couldn't quite grasp when I was younger, but I'm so glad that I'm understanding it more now. It's a magical reminder to trust that the cycle of life will inevitably make its way back again.
And with this, I shall end my musing for this month. I wish you a wonderfully cozy month ahead!
Much love,
TJ xx

I loved reading this as a fellow lover of Autumn, although I don't get the full effect anymore living in Thailand. I do miss the changing of the leaves and the cool breeze, the layering of clothes and all things pumpkin and Autumn spices.
Such a beautiful, cosy read TJ π€ Your love of autumn is rubbing off of on me π I used to struggle a lot in September, knowing that the darkness was on its way once again, but in the last couple of years Iβve really started to lean into those cosy feelings.
