Becoming You 💎
What if growth and change is more like a remembering? ✨ | Whimsy Wonderings (7/9)
Hello, my loves! 👋
Ever since I came back from my trip to the Black Forest, I’ve been holding a new piece of self in my hands and I’ve been taking my time to puzzle it into my world by cleaning my room and the apartment in general. The act of cleaning is such a tangible way to make space for the new, by reflecting as you clear out the old.
I feel that out of the nine musings I wrote for this series, this one hits the closest to home. The moment I chose to leave my master thesis behind and wander an unknown path where my creativity was my guiding light, I’ve been on a journey home to myself. I’ve faced many changes, moved through a lot ups and downs, and while it’s easy to label all the road blocks as frustrating or as events that were getting in my way, they actually guided me back to myself; layer by layer, piece by piece.
I didn’t always see my journey as a remembering, but with the power of hindsight and the willingness to see things differently, I could begin to anchor this in. The more I was able to do this, the more I could shift through changes, maybe not always faster, but definitely a bit easier. I could see my growth in life with a clearer understanding and could begin to nurture an acceptance of who I felt I had to become when I was younger and what I desire for myself now.
I hope the words can weave a thread of understanding towards self into your world as well. 💜
Till next musing, lovelies!

Hello, lovely reader! I’m TJ, an artist and storyteller and on here, you will find gentle reflections & musings on life, self love, healing and the magic of mundane wonders. Aka the stories that I collected as I pivoted my life around by choosing to follow my creative dreams. Make yourself cozy, have a read and I hope you the words will bring a dash of wonder and magic into your day.
Note to self:
We often perceive growth in life and within ourselves as if we’re completely reinventing who we are. But what if it’s more like a remembering, a clearer understanding and acceptance of who you’ve been all along?
Coming home to yourself is stepping bravely into a direction your heart is telling you to take and by releasing the thought that it’s a destination, you can start with accepting that you’re perfectly whole, just the way you are. It becomes an ongoing journey of expression of self and you don’t owe anyone an apology or a tale for being a different person now compared to who you were a year, a week or even a day ago.
Give yourself the space to quiet the noise you surrounded yourself with and hear your own voice. Strip away the beliefs you took on just so you could make sense of life and your role in it, to fall in love with yourself. Becoming who you are is about taking care of yourself, to appreciate your quirks, to be able to hug your insecurities and to understand your inner chatter. It’s about acknowledging your shadows and being able to sit in the uncomfortable feelings and muddy thoughts as you unravel the puzzle inside of you. It’s about meeting yourself where you’re at in life so you can step closer to where you would like to be by anchoring in the light you have inside of you.
Every adventure you find yourself on is one that leads you closer and closer to yourself. Take your time. Rediscover yourself, remember and invite the wonder you found so easily when you were little back into life again. Root yourself in your magic and move through the seasons as you connect with the strength that simmers beneath your skin. As your heart awakens to love, hear the soft melodies of the songs that reside in there. Dance to the rhythm you feel in your soul and see where the steps take you. 💕
