Greetings lovelies,
Ever since I was a little girl, I dreamt of faraway travels and epic adventures and at the center of this all, there would be an Enchanted Forest that I had to journey through. I found these adventures in books and stories and I remember sitting curled up on my bed or the couch, and during the holidays below the Christmas tree, with a pile of books, wandering around magical worlds and meeting marvelous characters.
Traveling is one of the things I’ve always desired to do, but also the very first thing that I had pushed aside when I journeyed through my high school and college years. I began to travel a lot more once I found myself on my creative path. Big and small adventures were added to my story, and with each trip, I remembered a small part of myself.
This upcoming week, I’ll be in the Black Forest and if there’s one place that would make my inner child absolutely delighted, it’s a trip to a forest that inspired fairy tales. I know, I know, the original Grimm stories are, well, grim, but you know what I mean, haha.
I had to share this next musing with you before I go as it’s about the inner child and even though the words were captured in December 2020, I’m still amazed at how well the themes of each musing have a link to where I currently am in life. They are wonderful reminders to keep close. 😊
I know that there’s a lot of content in the world on healing your inner child and as beautiful as it is to give your little self what she/he/they needed in the present moment, by doing all you desired to do, it’s also a journey inward. And this is a journey I’m very familiar with.
I hope the words can be a pathway, guiding you back to embracing your gentle heart, the freedom in your spirit, the remembering your inner child and the light you have always carried within.
Thank you so much for being here, lovelies. Till next letter!
TJ xx
Hello, lovely reader! I’m TJ, an artist and storyteller and on here, you will find gentle reflections & musings on life, self love, healing and the magic of mundane wonders. Aka the stories that I collected as I pivoted my life around by choosing to follow my creative dreams. Make yourself cozy, have a read and I hope you the words will bring a dash of wonder and magic into your day.
Note to self:
It’s not possible to hide the inner child for she will find ways to make herself known again.
Years have passed, you grew up and as you did, chances are that you started to view the world through filters and labels. Your beautiful heart might have started to have walls around it because of the pain and hurt it had to endure. And the moment you step outside, you feel like you’re wearing a coat that isn’t yours; its weight heavy on your soul.
Give yourself permission to take off this coat and to look beyond what the world tells you who you should be and what you should or shouldn’t do. Don’t cling to labels for these are always changing. Remember who you were before all the whispers found their way into your world. Remember your inner child for she’s still there, inside of you. She remembers the wonder and magic, she knows what you need and as she’s protecting your heart, she waits for you to breathe a bit deeper and let the wonder back in again.
You moved through the ebbs and flows in life to the best of your ability. Give yourself the space to let some of that wonder back in. Forgive yourself for all you did and didn’t do. Love yourself for who you are and let your battle scars shimmer with stardust for they showed you that you’ve lived.
I hope you will always be able to remember that it’s never too late to start being the wonderfully beautiful human being that you needed when you were little. Never forget that your tender heart is a gift. Your free spirit, the key to imagining all the possibilities. Let your soul gleam with kindness and shine its light into the world. You’re worthy of all the beautiful dreams you wished for yourself when you were younger. 💕
Ps. What’s one thing that your inner child would love that you can do for yourself today?

Beautiful writing, and such fond memories of the magic of childhood, waiting to be rediscovered ✨
The best thing I can do for my inner child is allow her to be herself; to make mistakes and learn from them rather than be crushed by them; to accept herself as she is, flaws and all; and to see what’s beautiful about her instead focusing only on the imperfections.
