And thank you! I freshned up the color earlier this week and it’s the perfect canvas to…add some purple, hehe. I will ponder a bit more if I will do it though. 🤭
happy early birthday fellow Octoberina! :) Libras have a vibe that I resonate with, as a Scorpio. It must be the season of the witch! (despite the fact that October down under is in Spring and I don't like it)
Hellooo! Aww I love Octoberina!! 🥰 I believe I'm on the cusp of Libra and Scorpio? I can't recall when Scorpio season actually begins now, but I do have a more Scorpio in my chart so it's an energy I resonate very well with! Yesss to it being the season of the witch 🤗 Why did I think you lived in Italy now? I keep forgetting how the seasons are switched down under! I'm sending some extra autumn vibes your way 🍂✨🍁✨ When it's Autumn, do you have colorful trees where you live?
Oh my gosh, I feel this. I love October so much it’s hard not to overbook it. Then I miss out on its most endearing qualities, the slowing down and the cozies, and getting lost in a story. I’m trying to be still here for a bit with my little one and a cup of tea this morning (and Ms. Rachel 😆)
Aww that makes me so happy! And it is SO hard to not overbook it! This year I keep feeling the urge to do all the things and I have to ground myself as my energy levels aren't at a 100% yet after my burnout. I love how you described it as 'endearing qualities", that's so perfect 🥰 I hope you could settle into a little quiet moment with your little one, the tea and Ms. Rachel. I've no idea who Ms. Rachel is and I want to assume it's cat 😅🙈✨
TJ this was such a beautiful and charming read 🍂 You’ve truly put a glimpse of magic into my morning 🤎
During October I love to go for walks and try to be present when looking at the subtle changes in the leaves. I also love making soups, which is something I’ll be doing this afternoon. I’m also hoping to watch some cosy films that I haven’t seen before 🍁
Hii my love! Aww thank you so much! I was wondering if I wasn't too reflective with this post, but I can always share musing around creating coze vibes, haha. I'm so glad it added some magic into your morning when you read it 🥰✨
Soups are so perfect this season! Do you have a favorite one to make? I don't have a lot of soups in my "recipe book" and it's a world that I'd love to expand on more. When I read your message, I suddenly realized why I feel October is a liminal month for me already, it's liminal because of the weather. November might be nestled between seasons, October is nestled between the weather with her occasional warmer days and nature not completely bare yet. Sometimes I feel something before I know why I have that, haha. Thank you!!🧡 xx
Ooh, hard to say! I love tomato and basil with cheese toasties, but I also love using up whatever veg I have leftover. I made a lovely one recently with parsnips, sweet potatoes, red lentils, butternut squash and some other veg. It was lovely!
Haha! Yes, that makes sense. I think that’s why I love October too. It’s the perfect balance xx
I haven't had a proper tomato soup & cheese toasties in ages!! I have to fix this, haha.
Also, your latest soup sounds delicious too! I usually make a yellow split pea soup (dahl), it can be red lentil or green as well. Or a brown bean soup, which is a dutch thing, I believe, but not sure. Then I have a simple chicken/vegetable soup variation that I can eat with either noodles or rice. I love ramen, but I don't always go all out with the little elements that make ramen, ramen, haha. ✨
I love watching classic old black and white horror films, like Dracula, The Werewolf, Frankenstein, The Mummy, and of course I love Young Frankenstein with Gene Wilder. I also love cooking warming soups and stews, roasting vegetables and lots of outdoor activity when the weather is cooler. And then there is reading, tucked in a cozy chair while the wind whistles around the house. October is such a wonderfully introspective month.
That's such a wonderful list with movies, Kate! I've never seen Young Frankenstein before, but I'd love to and I hope I can find it somewhere! Cooking soups and stews, roasted vegetables...ahh the coziness of all these things! 🥰 I love all the things you can do for yourself during this month! Thank you so much for sharing 🧡🤗
Autumn really is the most wonderful time of the year. 🥰 This month I’m looking forward to celebrating my and my husband’s 19th wedding anniversary on the 10th. I’m also looking forward to possibly going trick-or-treating for Halloween. That’s right, I’m too old for it, but gosh I want to experience the thrill of it again! ✨
Right? I so agree and I'm so not biased for saying this 👀😂 But in all honesty though, the start of Autumn is a beautiful time of the year. And congratulations to you and your husband!! ✨💃🎊 19 years filled with magic, adventures, growth and change, I wish you both many more years filled with love 🧡 One is NEVER too old for trick or treating!! It's not a thing where I live at all and I find it so rude 😂 Do you already know your outfit for Halloween?? ✨🎃
Thank you! We hope to renew our vows next year for our 20th! 🤞🏽✨
You don’t have trick-or-treating where you live? 😳 You’re right, that’s very rude! It’s so fun to see the little ones in their costumes carrying around all the candies (or sometimes expired fiber bars that the elderly hand out 🫠). I’ve only had a couple ideas for costumes. Either Beetlejuice or Urkel lol. I actually think I need a costume with a mask so that people won’t know my age and will give me candy lol. 👵🏽😅
I agree! I love autumn, I think the older i get, the more I love and appreciate this time of the year where things slowly calm down, but aren't in complete cold slumber yet🍁
I'm planning to get my hair colored this month (or the beginning of next month🤔) I haven't done it in a really long time and somehow the feeling of autumn and it's many colors made me want to put some more creative color in my life as well☺️🩵
Hii Nika! I so agree with you! 🍂✨ And a new hair color?? Do tell which color you're thinking about please! 🤗 I'm due to freshen up my own color as well, but my sister wants to cut my hair first, haha. And yesss! This season really ignites creativity and a sense of curiosity and play! I always connect to my own creativity in a much deeper way once Autumn starts. 🥰
Ohhh I LOVE that so much!! And it does make sense, I think. it's half of the lengths of your hair?
I really wanted to add a bit of highlights and then more purple back, but decided to focus on my scalp health a bit more as after the last time I dyed my roots to cover my "storm hairs", I had a bit more hairloss than expected and I know it's because my health has been a bit wobbly. So it will be a chocolate brown with beige undertone (to cut through the warmth I naturally have and cover my storm hairs hehe) for now! I might use a semi-permanent conditioner to add a violet hue back in though, haha.
Yes exactly!☺️
A chocolate brown sounds beautiful!🤎 and I'm sure a bit of purple would make it even cuter💜
I’m excited for your blue locks, lovely! 💙
And thank you! I freshned up the color earlier this week and it’s the perfect canvas to…add some purple, hehe. I will ponder a bit more if I will do it though. 🤭
I am too🤭🩵
If you feel the itch to add some color, you should do it! Otherwise I'm sure the chocolate brown will be pretty on its own as well☺️

Ohh you do! Just the perfect autumn food!
Both of those soups sounds beautiful! I definitely need to look up some recipes for those xx

Beautiful words, as always, and both your illustrations and photos are gorgeous 🙏✨
I so appreciate you saying that, thank YOU! 🤗✨ I'm looking forward to capture more food photography again. 😊

What color are you going for?🍁
I'm thinking of something more bold like a light teal or a light blue, though only for like half my hear from the tips, if that makes sense😂
