The best thing I can do for my inner child is allow her to be herself; to make mistakes and learn from them rather than be crushed by them; to accept herself as she is, flaws and all; and to see what’s beautiful about her instead focusing only on the imperfections.
Yesss to all you said, lovely Tina! Thank you so much for sharing this with me. 🥰💕 I had a conversation with my sister not too long ago as it dawned on me once again how we are primed from such a young age to focus on what we need to do better or what we need to fix. I too, from a young age, was hyper aware of all I wasn't able to do, but now I do my very best to give my inner child the space to just be and to indulge in curiosity and learning without focusing on mistakes or not having certain knowledge yet.
My inner child would love that I can stand up and advocate for myself when I need to do so. I could never find that voice when I was younger, and I couldn't ask for what I needed, nor did I give myself any grace for mistakes. I can do all of that now. Little me would be proud.
I resonate so much with not speaking up for myself when I was younger and I've spent majority of my life, putting everyone else's needs before mine. I feel I only began to properly shift this once I found myself on my creative path. I'm so so glad you've been able to find your way to your voice, lovely Kate! 🤗✨💕
Whilst I didn’t read much as a child (I didn’t really enjoy it), I did always have that wild imagination and love for fairytales. I now thoroughly love reading and getting lost in these magical worlds. If you have any book recommendations, please let me know! 🤍 My inner child would love to read the books she didn’t back then xx
Beautiful writing, and such fond memories of the magic of childhood, waiting to be rediscovered ✨
That's so kind of you to say, David, thank you so so much for reading! 🤗✨
